Abstract

Background- Primary Hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) has been associated with increased
cardiovascular morbidity and early death. Data on the extent and clinical significance of
cardiovascular abnormalities in primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) are conflicting. The
main objective of this study was to evaluate the cardiac function in patients with PHPT
without other known risk factors and to analyze the effect of parathyroidectomy.
