Assessment of Clinico- Haematological Profile of Hb E-Beta Thalassemic Children

Background: The aim is to evaluate clinico- haematological profile of Hb E-Beta Thalassemic children. Material and Methods: Fifty- six Hb E-Beta Thalassemic children were enrolled in present study. 5 ml of venous blood was collected and analysed in fully automated counter. RBC, WBC, MCV, MCH, MCHC, platelet count, reticulocyte count was assessed. Staining of peripheral smear was done using Leishman stain. High performance liquid chromatography was used for assessment of haemoglobin type.
