Correlation of visceral obesity with fasting serum insulin and triglyceride levels in metabolic syndrome.

Abstract

The Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of interrelated metabolic abnormalities that directly promote the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Dyslipidemia and insulin resistance play a key role in the development of metabolic syndrome. The present study was conducted to correlate insulin resistance and hypertriglyceridemia with visceral obesity in patients with Metabolic syndrome.
