STUDY OF CLINICAL PROFILE OF PATIENTS ADMITTED WITH INTRACEREBRAL HEMORRHAGE IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL

Aim: To study the clinical profile of patients admitted with Intracerebral hemorrhage in a tertiary care hospital. Method: Patients admitted in the Medicine ward and Intensive care unit (ICU) were selected for the study. their clinical profile in terms of age, sex, complaints on admission, risk factors, and location of intracerebral hemorrhage on CT (Computed Tomography) scan studied. Results: Hypertension is the most common risk factor for intracerebral hemorrhage especially in the elderly and the Gangliocapsular region is the most common site for intracerebral hemorrhage. Conclusion: Elderly patients should be routinely screened for hypertension and other risk factors like diabetes, smoking, and dyslipidemia and appropriate measures to be taken to prevent any complications like intracerebral hemorrhage.
