Introduction: Allergic rhinitis is an inflammation of the lining of the nose and is characterized by anterior or posterior watery rhinorrhoea, sneezing, nasal blockage and itching of the nose wherein the symptoms occur on 2 or more consecutive days for more than one hour on most days. Otoacoustic emission is a disturbance in the environment causes sound waves to be created which travel through the air. Aims: The present study is undertaken to assess the otological and audiological status of patients with allergic rhinitis in our hospital and to estimate the hearing impairment and its magnitude in the abnormal study subjects using Oto-Acoustic Emissions.
