Abstract

Background and Aims: Filicide, the act of a parent killing their own child, is a tragic and complex phenomenon often linked to severe psychiatric conditions. This study aims to explore the psychiatric and cardiovascular profiles of incarcerated filicide perpetrators, focusing on the relationship between mental health disorders, psychological stress, and cardiovascular health. Materials and Methods: The study included 18 incarcerated individuals who had committed filicide. Data on socio-demographics, psychiatric diagnoses, and cardiovascular assessments (systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate) were collected. Statistical analyses were performed to assess associations between psychiatric history, suicide attempts, and cardiovascular measures.
