Abstract

Background: Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) are amongst the most common healthcare-associated infections in hospitalised patients, particularly in those requiring prolonged urinary catheterisation. The emergence of multidrug-resistant uropathogens has further complicated the  management of CAUTI in tertiary care settings
