Abstract

Background Alcohol dependence patients has many negative effects on the wives of patients including domestic violence. The wives are in a position where their mental state can be severely compromised, leading to various psychiatric morbidities. The current study examined the prevalence of domestic violence, level of marital satisfaction and their correlation with the psychiatric morbidities present among the spouses of alcohol dependence patients.
