Introduction: Heart failure is one of the most common reasons for hospital admission in those aged 65 and over with consequent high costs for the healthcare system. Despite improvements in the treatment of patients with chronic HF with reduced EF, the survival of the patients hospitalized for HF remains poor, with one-year mortality of 30% and 5-year mortality up to 50%.
