Abstract

It is widely acknowledged that heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death and disability worldwide in developed as well as developing countries1. Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) usually occurs when the coronary flow suddenly decreases after an obstruction or thrombotic occlusion in a coronary artery previously affected by atherosclerosis.
