Effect of Dexmedetomidine and Nalbuphine as an adjuvant to bupivacaine in paravertebral block for postoperative pain after modified radical mastectomy

Abstract

Background & aim Paravertebral block (PVB) is a commonly used technique, for postoperative analgesia after modified radical mastectomy(MRM).Though many adjuvants to bupivacaine in PVB have been tried for postoperative analgesia, none has been found ideal. We have compared the duration of analgesia in PVB using adjuvant like dexmedetomidine and nalbuphine with bupivacaine after MRM.
