Fournier's gangrene is a severe form of necrotizing fasciitis affecting the perineal region. It predominantly affects elderly men but can also occur in children. This condition is often associated with diabetes, chronic alcohol abuse, and immune suppression, although it can also develop in healthy individuals without significant co morbidities.
