A comparative study between epidural butorphanol and epidural buprenorphine for postoperative pain relief in patients undergoing lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries

Abstract

This study, titled "A Comparative Study Between Epidural Butorphanol and Epidural Buprenorphine for Postoperative Pain Relief in Patients Undergoing Lower Abdominal and Lower Limb Surgeries," involved 100 ASA I and II patients aged 20-60 years. Ethical committee approval was obtained before starting the study. Patients were randomly divided into two groups: Group A (n=50) received 1 mg of Butorphanol tartrate, and Group B (n=50) received 300 mcg of Buprenorphine hydrochloride.
