Background: Cardiomyopathy was an anatomic and pathologic diagnosis was associated with
muscle or electrical dysfunction of the heart. The American Heart Association (AHA) defines
cardiomyopathy as a heterogeneous group of diseases of the myocardium, usually with
inappropriate ventricular hypertrophy or dilatation. This study aimed to evaluate for etiological
factors of cardiomyopathy among hospitalized patients and to correlate the clinical findings
with electrocardiographic and echocardiographic findings.
