Background and Aim: Elevated serum uric acid levels have been increasingly recognized as a potential risk factor for
hypertension and cardiovascular events. Hyperuricemia has been associated with endothelial dysfunction, inflammation, and
oxidative stress, all of which contribute to the development and progression of hypertension. This study seeks to fill this gap
by examining serum uric acid levels in newly diagnosed hypertensive patients and investigating their association with the
severity of hypertension and the occurrence of cardiovascular events.
