Abstract
Background: Advanced ovarian cancer surgery presents anaesthetists with the
challenge of managing patients with potential multiple co-morbidities undergoing
major open or extended laparoscopic surgeries. The disease has overall amongst the
poorest overall survival rates of all malignancies, with an estimated 5-year survival
rate of <43%, and the patients being of a generally older age group present specific
challenges in terms of their accumulated co-morbidities
