Introduction: HbA1c, or glycated hemoglobin, is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring
diabetes, reflecting average blood glucose levels over 2-3 months. However, its accuracy can
be affected by conditions like iron deficiency anemia (IDA), which alters red blood cell
lifespan and potentially skews HbA1c readings. This study aims to explore the effect of IDA
on HbA1c levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.
