Abstract

BACKGROUND: 
Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a disorder of pregnancy in which patients present with 
symptoms of heart failure in last month of pregnancy or within 5months of delivery.In most cases, 
the presentation of the symptoms is acute and rapid deterioration of the maternal and fetal 
condition is seen. In the absence of effective diagnostic modalities like 2D echocardiogram, it 
becomes a diagnosis of exclusion. The objective of this study was to know the incidence and feto
