Abstract

Background- Sepsis is a severe, life-threatening condition resulting from an abnormal and uncontrolled
immune response to infection, posing a significant global health challenge. Blood coagulation disorders are
significant complications in sepsis, often exacerbating the severity of the condition. The APACHE II (Acute
Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II) score is a widely used severity-of-disease classification system
that provides valuable prognostic information in critically ill patients. This study aims to investigate the
relationship between various blood coagulation parameters and the severity of sepsis as assessed by the
APACHE II score.
