Abstract

Introduction- Acute ischemic stroke is characterized by the sudden loss of neurological function due to infarction of brain
tissue caused by arterial occlusion. The inflammatory response following a stroke involves various immune cells, including
neutrophils and lymphocytes. The neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a readily measurable marker from peripheral
blood samples that reflects systemic inflammation. Elevated NLR levels have been associated with poor outcomes in various
medical conditions, including ischemic stroke.
