Background: Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disorders, such as stroke, have been linked to the
formation of lipoprotein (A) [Lp(a)], a genetically determined lipoprotein variation. Elevated
Lp(a) is a crucial component in the pathogenesis of stroke since it is linked to an increased risk
of ischaemic stroke. The study assessed Lp(a) levels in acute stroke patients.
