Background: Preeclampsia is a syndrome characterized by the new onset of hypertension with
proteinuria, end organ dysfunction or both after 20 weeks of gestation in a previously
normotensive woman. Early diagnosis and treatment of this disease may prevent serious
sequelae of the disease. Many different tests have been suggested to predict preeclampsia and
thus trying to prevent maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality by earlier diagnosis.
