HISTOPATHOLOGICAL STUDY OF SPECTRUM OF LESIONS IN LUNG BIOPSIES IN A TERTIARY CARE PUBLIC HOSPITAL

Abstract

Background: Lung diseases are some of the most common medical conditions affecting
millions of people worldwide and in India. Present study was aimed to study
Histopathological spectrum of lesions in lung biopsies in a tertiary care public hospital.
Material and Methods: Present study was single-center, observational study, conducted in
lung biopsy specimens received in the department of Pathology. After gross examination lung
biopsy specimens were fixed in 10% formalin, processed and embedded in paraffin wax,
serial sections of 4–5-micron thickness obtained and then stained with H & E
