Abstract

Introduction: Intra parenchymal haemorrhage (IPH) which is a form of stroke syndrome results from
the rupture of an intracerebral vessel leading to the development of a hematoma in the substance of
the brain. Various factors have been identified as predicting outcome including age, gender, race,
initial MAP, temperature, volume of bleed, site of bleed, intraventricular extension, mass effect and
initial level of consciousness. Hence this study was done to evaluate various prognostic factors in
predicting 30-day outcome (assessed by NIHSS score) of patients with non- traumatic
intraparenchymal haemorrhage.
