Effects of Nasal Irrigation on Sinusitis Symptoms

Abstract

Sinusitis, a prevalent condition characterized by inflammation of the nasal passages and sinuses, presents significant discomfort and impairs quality of life. Amid various treatment modalities, including medications and surgery, non-harmacological approaches such as nasal irrigation gain traction as adjunctive or alternative therapies. Despite its popularity, evidence regarding the efficacy of nasal irrigation in managing sinusitis symptoms remains inconclusive. This study aims to systematically investigate the effects of nasal irrigation on sinusitis symptoms and elucidate its potential therapeutic mechanisms.
