Background: The diagnosis and management of the patients with jaundice can be one of the most perplexing and challenging problems. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has been considered the gold standard for evaluation of the disease of biliary system. Aim & Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) in defining the etiology and level of obstruction in obstructive jaundice patients and compare it with Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Methodology: A Prospective study was conducted on 30 adult patients who reported at OPD/IPD of Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad during the period June-2023 to June-2024 to the Departments of Medicine, Surgery and Gastroenterology with symptoms and signs of biliary obstruction. Evidence of obstruction was detected on routine Ultrasound (USG)/Computed Tomography (CT) scan examination. Informed consent was obtained from all patients prior to MRCP.
