Background: Surgical site infections (SSIs) contribute significantly to morbidity, mortality, prolonged
hospital stays, and increased healthcare costs. Various patient-related factors, such as age, nutritional
status, pre-existing infections, and comorbid conditions, influence the likelihood of developing SSIs.
This study aims to investigate the role of hypocholesterolemia and hypoalbuminemia as potential risk
