Fracture union is decided by many factors. The prime factor being stability of the fracture and
soft tissue attachments to the fragments which are fractured. There are certain methods of
fracture fixation which offer a rigid stable fixation. But in the case of fracture with
comminution and avulsed butterfly fragments, certain precautions in open reduction and
internal fixation are necessary to achieve fracture union. Our study is about 30 cases of
fracture both bones of forearm with comminution, treated with Dynamic compression plating.
The fracture configuration plays a role in the fracture union.
