Abstract

Background: Hypothyroidism, a common endocrine disorder characterized by insufficient
thyroid hormone production, has been linked to various haematological alterations,
including changes in platelet indices. This article provides evidence regarding the impact of
hypothyroidism on platelet count, mean platelet distribution width (PDW), and plateletcrit.
This study is aimed at evaluating the influence of hypothyroidism on platelet indices,
including platelet count, MPV, PDW, and plateletcrit.
