Abstract

Aims: Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is currently most prevalent cause of mortality and
morbidity worldwide and India. Asian Indians throughout the world have one of the highest
incidences of premature coronary artery disease with clinical manifestations occurring almost
ten years earlier than other populations. There is an increase in coronary heart disease (CAD)
in past 60 years, from 1% to 10% in urban populations and <1% to 6% in rural populations.
The present study was conducted to assess the relationship between severity and outcome of
CAD with triglyceride glucose (TYG) index.
