Abstract

Smoking is considered a major risk aspect of cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, the mechanisms by which it causes CVDs are not clear. Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) is a key enzyme in the renin-angiotensinaldosterone system, which converts angiotensin-I to angiotensin-II regulates blood pressure and act as a vasoconstrictor may play a vital role in cardiovascular disease.
