.Abstract
Periodontal regeneration remains a significant challenge in dentistry. Recent advancements in regenerative techniques have led to the development of injectable platelet rich fibrin (i-PRF), a novel autologous blood concentrate that promotes tissue healing and regeneration. Unlike traditional platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), i-PRF exists in a liquid form, allowing for easy application in periodontal defects. I-PRF has the benefit of releasing growth factors continuously and encouraging cell migration through the transformation of growth factor mRNA and the announcement of type I collagen expression. This review explores the preparation, properties, advantages, limitations, and applications of i-PRF in periodontal regeneration.
