Abstract

Background: Chronic suppurative otitis media is a common otologic disorder associated with tympanic membrane perforation and conductive hearing loss. Tympanoplasty is the standard surgical procedure for repairing tympanic membrane defects, with various graft materials available. The  choice of graft material may influence postoperative graft uptake and hearing outcomes.
