Abstract

Background: Operative vaginal delivery (OVD), using forceps or vacuum extraction, is an important obstetric intervention that facilitates vaginal birth while reducing unnecessary caesarean sections. However, it is associated with specific maternal and neonatal  complications, making careful case selection and skilled execution essential.
