Abstract

Background: Inflammation plays a central role in pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy (DN), a major cause of morbidity and
mortality in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a novel and easily available inflammatory
marker that can be used to predict DN.
Objective : To determine the neutrophil–lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as an inflammatory biomarker among type 2 diabetes mellitus
(T2DM) patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN).
