Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease with microvascular and macrovascular 
complications. The pulmonary complications of diabetes mellitus have been poorly 
characterized. Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are noninvasive tests that show how well the 
lungs are working.
