Abstract

Pharmacists play a crucial role in environmental health through their involvement
in medication disposal programs, patient education, advocacy, and collaboration with other
healthcare professionals. This review explores the role of pharmacists in environmental
health, highlighting successful initiatives and the challenges they face. Regulatory hurdles,
lack of awareness or training, and the need for more opportunities to expand pharmacists' role
in environmental health are discussed. Despite these challenges, pharmacists have the
potential to make a significant contribution to environmental sustainability and public health.
