Abstract

The prevalence of coronary heart disease (CHD) is known to be very high among Indians, both in India and abroad. Moreover, among Indians, CHD occurs at least a decade or 2 earlier compared with Europeans.[1,2] The reason for the increased susceptibility of Indians to CHD is yet to be completely understood.
