Analysis of a vascular screening program in a rural community

Abstract

Data from the National Vital Statistics reports show that 26% of the total deaths in the USA are due to heart disease and 5.7% are due to cerebrovascular disease.Death due to heart disease is caused mainly by atherosclerotic obstruction of the coronary arteries. Atherosclerosis is a systemic disease affecting not only the coronary and carotid arteries but also the abdominal aorta and the lower extremities
