Diagnosis and surgical treatment of carotid body tumor: A report of 18 cases

Abstract

Carotid body tumor (CBT) is one of the most commonly seen jugular paraganglioma involving the carotid body chemoreceptors, but rarely seen clinically, so the corresponding diagnosis and management remain diffi cult. Eighteen patients with CBT were admitted into our department from 1997 to 2008. We would like to investigate the experience in the diagnosis and management of CBT
