Abstract

Background : This study includes Early Breast cancer patients undergoing Modified Radical mastectomy and aims to compare the preoperative clinico-radiological axillary staging with pathological staging in operated specimens postoperatively and thus to study the precsion and accuracy of these preoperative staging modalities. Axillary nodal status has long been recognised as one of the strongest predictors of breast cancer recurrence and mortality. But this is now being challenged in the wake of new clinical trials dismissing the role of axillary nodal status in determining the overall survival
