Abstract

Total stations are used extensively for taking geodetic and engineering survey measurements. These measurements are made possible by accurate observation of targeted points. They are also used by archaeologists to record excavations and by police, crime scene investigators, private accident deconstructionists and insurance companies to take measurements of scenes. The detailing of the college building ( NIET CAMPUS) is explained by the application of total station. The building consists of two blocks, library , workshops , cafeteria etc... Each block consists of 3 floors. At every floor 10 rooms, labs, seminar halls are located. Total station is used for recording the features and setting out the features ( road , houses or boundaries ). Data collection , area calculation , fixing of
pillars , height measurements , etc.. are found out. The area of the college building is found out and the inputs are implemented in AUTO cad. Details of the college building is clearly viewed.
