Abstract

Background: Periodontitis, as a common chronic infectious disease in dentistry, is mediated by the immune-inflammatory response to the accumulated periodontal pathogens in the periodontal tissues, which involves both innate and acquired immunity.
Aims and objectives: To evaluate serum mineral micronutrients (Zn, Cu, Fe, and Mg) and their correlation with clinical parameters (gingival index, probing pocket depth, clinical attachment loss) in chronic periodontitis subjects.
