Abstract

Rural India faces persistent healthcare access barriers due to infrastructure deficits and
geographic isolation. This observational study investigates the impact of online doctor
consultations (telemedicine) on healthcare access and utilization from 2019 to 2024, analyzing
data from national telehealth initiatives like eSanjeevani and published research. Results
indicate a substantial increase in consultation volumes, particularly among women and elderly
patients, and improved care continuity.
