The evaluation of acute toxicity is a fundamental step in determining the safety profile of
medicinal plants used in traditional medicine. This study compares the acute oral toxicity of
hydroalcoholic leaf extracts of Ocimum canum (OC) and Platycladus orientalis (PO), two
plants known for their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. Using
Wistar rats as the animal model and following OECD guidelines (425), the extracts were
administered in increasing doses
