Introduction: Several studies have investigated the relationship between spinal anesthesia and
blood loss in orthopedic surgery, but the results remain mixed. Some studies suggest that spinal
anesthesia offers a superior advantage in terms of blood loss control, while others highlight that
the reduction in blood loss is not statistically significant when compared to general anesthesia.
spinal anesthesia has been shown to reduce stress responses to surgery, including the release of
catecholamines and other hormones involved in blood coagulation and vascular tone.
