Efficiency of the Mtwo and XP-endo shapers in shaping large oval root canals: –A micro-CT study

Abstract

Aim: To assess the shaping capabilities of the Mtwo and XP-endo Shaper systems in the long, oval canals of removed human mandibular molars. Material: Methodology: Morphometric measurements of the increase in canal volume, dentin removed, surface area, undisturbed walls, and structural model index (SMI) were assessed in images taken before and after preparation. The Mann-Whitney test was used to statistically analyse the data at a significance level of 5%. The root canal procedure considerably raised all examined parameters for both groups (P > 0.05).
