Abstract

Berberine (BBR) is a plant alkaloid and a quaternary ammonium salt that can be seen in a variety of plants of Berberidaceae family. BBR has been used for thousands of years for its antimicrobial, antihypertensive, antitumor, lipid lowering and antihyperglycemic effect. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine disorders in women of reproductive age, with an incidence of 5-10% according to women’s health center statistics
