Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is one of the commonest reasons for morbidity and mortality universally. The principal etiopathology of IHD is coronary atherosclerosis. Serum uric acid (SUA), is found to be associated with IHD in several metaanalyses, independent of other risk factors. Hepatic acute phase reactant ''C-reactive protein (CRP)'' has a recognized contribution to vascular inflammation. Up till now, no sufficient data is yet available to show the correlation of both UA and HSCRP to each other and with IHD in our country. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the causal-effect of SUA, and CRP and their diagnostic correlation in admitted patients with IHD.
