Abstract
Background: Ultrasound-guided supraclavicular block is of increasing importance in upper limb surgeries as it provides excellent pain control and reduced side effects. The search for the ideal adjuvant is still present. In this study, we aim to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dexmedetomidine, and fentanyl when added to levobupivacaine in ultrasound-guided supraclavicular block. Aim and Objective: To compare the efficacy dexmedetomidine and fentanyl as an adjunct to levobupivacaine in ultrasound guided supraclavicular brachial plexus block for upper limb surgeries. To compare the onset and duration of sensory and motor blockade, duration of analgesia and haemodynamic parameters between 50mcg of dexmedetomidine and 50mcg of fentanyl with 0.5% levobupivacaine in ultrasound guided supraclavicular brachial plexus block for upper limb surgeries.
